Tuit-Tirrrr

Don't you be mistaken. This is a bird's love duet: "Tuit": Where are you darling?
"tirrrr": Here honey, almost endlessly calling.

Two little birds chasing after each other playfully from twig to twig.

Sound, Oil-lamp Of The Wandering Sekoteng Vendor

The Sekoteng Vendor

Musing Over A Bowl Of Sekoteng

He is perhaps one of the last wandering ‘sekoteng’ (gingerly drink) vendor with his wheel-cart, an oil lamp, sounding “ting-ting” along the road. In former times, villagers, common folk, enjoy a night, leisurely sitting together, squatting, sitting on a bench, on the side walk, near a village market, or alun-alun (plain), ... drinking warm ‘sekoteng’, while someone is playing the ‘kecapi’ (Indonesian zither) in the still, cool night, the moon rising, a starry sky, fire-flies, with soft, peaceful ‘pelita’ light (oil-lamp), ... There were no glaring city lights, no roaring cars and motor-cycles, no hard-rock music ... The people sometimes give him some cents.

Just within a short life time of 60, 70, 80, ... years, so much, a lot has changed and many things, plants, insects, birds, animals, delicious folk cookies, drinks, ices, ... are gone, lost, I see no more ...

The “kue putu” (rice cake) vendor with its whistle in the night, the kue rangi, folk niceties, cakes, ...

Dragon-flies, damselflies visited, birds nest in our garden, there was dew on the grass. You could hear the gecko: “tekeh-tekeh, ...”

There were  frogs’ concert after rain, a ‘gabus’ mother fish with almost a thousand babies of her brood, the ‘betok’, rice, paddy fields with a lot of fish ...

There were little snails like sailing boats or skiing on leaves and stalks, many kind of beetles in the Bogor Botanical Gardens ...

The eagle, herons sailing, circling in the sky, hooting owl, the ‘musang’, fireflies, ...

The sky in Jakarta was so clear the stars were visible.

What a loss, they almost are no more. And I’m not a scientist. It has become a fairy tale.

One day you could only see them in pictures, in a zoological-, botanical-museum. If fortunate, you could see them still “live”  in You Tube or a video.

The Wind

The Wind

I wanted to capture the wind by recording the ripples on the lake by “zooming in”, I just captured faintly the ripples but surprisingly, the camera captured a lovely flower. That’s what I learned, my reward for poor shooting.

So now can I capture the wind also by recording waving trees, waving lovely flowers, sailing clouds, ...

I could sit for hours with my thoughts, enjoy watching in the shade, in a breeze, these flowers waving.

Gentle Shepherd

To preserve my wife's, a girl of about 75 years, singing and a painting.

Komm Holder Lenz (last part)

"Broadcast Yourself"

Those are You Tube's challenging, inspiring words.

So I take courage to broadcast myself through You Tube, though only armed, equipped with my digital PowerShot A 490  camera and a computer. I don't care whether my broadcasting isn't profesionally done. In the meantime will I have learned how to improve, how to fade in, to fade out and a lot more.

My camera even is capable to record sounds and I have now my choir DIASEBAD (DI Atas SEtengah aBAD)  - old agers of over half a century -, members of a small church in Jakarta, without ever having had singing lessons before, without formal musical education, without audition,  recorded and uploaded.

Chasing After A Baby Chick

The Mother Chick

I tried to catch her baby but I captured the mother.

She certainly is not ordinary. Were peacocks raised as easily as chickens, they would look as ordinary as this chick.

Cocks Crowing, Ducks Swimming

How I Recorded A Cock's Crow

How should I record a cock's crow as I just saw a cock in a cage? When start recording, when you don't know when he will crow? So I recorded something else. Luckily I saw and recorded swimming ducks, while waiting for the cock to crow and I succeeded to record some of his crowings, but pity, as I stopped recording he crowd again. I got the ducks by "zooming in" that is to  make them larger but blur while the lake Kemuning unfortunately wasn't captured. Thanks to the superbe ability of the digital mini camera, the ducks were kept on the light-side.

A Little Candle

I went in. It was dark in the little room and sat before a desk before the man who was in charge to provide for my new identity card He doesn't seem to be very healthy.

I turned home and was struck as his wife entered, a beautiful angel with a lovely voice. As a little candle her appearance suddenly lit up the room, the life of this man. How happy, how rich he must be with such a good angel beside him as he could never afford to 'buy' himself such a lovely creature.

Piggy

Love That's Repaid With A Slap On Her Behind

Piggy so much loves me. She welcomes me, standing up on her hind-legs, scratching with her paws, biting in play but hurts me a bit. Instead, as she so loves me, I threaten her with my slipper, slap her on her behind, not hard and she crawls back, lies down to ask. for mercy.

Belo

Belo, the unwanted, neglected little doggy is so ugly. He looks like a little devil from a distance, is squinting like a cockeyed chicken, one hind leg is crippeled, one eye is blinded by a cataract. Taken up home by si Upik he became so lovely, so loved.

When Belo clumsily walking, almost limping, with squinting eyes, moving his head slowly sideways, then gladly stands on its hindlegs to be fondled, hugged by si Upik there's no one who would not love him.

Bird's Twitter And Happiness

What a joy to wake up with birds’s twitter.

Wayang Golek

Lest it would be  forgotten and lost forever.

I very much enjoy the show, though I don't know what they're talking about in the Sundanese language, but I love the gamelan's exciting music and the puppet's dances and actings.

Chasing A Bird In Flight

Chasing after a  seabird in flight I got no bird, blank, but captured this picture with my mini digital Video camera. Ha. Ha.

Queer Flower

Strange flower or is it a blossom, on a stem in Bogor Botanical Gardens

Pancuran

I always longed, wanted to visit the source of a rivulet but never succeeded to reach it. It's to far away, too difficult to visit it. I'm lucky to find these pancurans with water coming out of a natural spring at the foot of a hill.

For days, months, years, ... it is flowing. What a joy to see, to hear and feel the water falling.

The villagers are grateful with it. They take their bath, wash and have their cool drinking-water, purer than our bottled aqua water.

The River

My Doggies

Piggy is so sweet, so descent. She waits eating till Belo starts eating and she licks afterwards his plate and mouth clean.

Birds Cooing And Twitter

Chasing A Butterfly

My Poor Shooting, Recording Results, Trigger Me To Creativity

But for my bad shooting and recording with my mini Canon PowerShot A 490 camera, out of worthless trash, scraps I got, - chase a butterfly, a bird in flight, ... - did I start to learn and succeeded to create nice photo's, mini videos and movies with the superbe editing tools of Windows Live Photo Gallery and Movie Maker, without which I would never have been able to do so. And I'm just a beginner.

Cicadas Singing

What I Learned From My Mini Digital Camera

I  can't command noisy people in the Bogor Botanical Gardens to hold their tongues, motor vehicles stop running when cicadas are singing, can you? But I insist that the human species can also sing very beautifully.

Study In Harmony 3

Lest I would lose it.
From mayor chord down three to minor chord then up one to mayor chord, etc.

Study In Harmony 2

I would never have found these lovely chord progressions were I to study harmony as educated according to the formal, accepted standards, rules, ways. How happy I am. It's a precious gift to myself.

Study In Harmony

These are lovely, unexpected closings of minor chord to minor chord a 3rd upwards.
To save study and painting of Sabar S., a mouth-, foot-painting artist.
